We are seeking a motivated engineering manager to help bring new & differentiated security solutions to market through the combination of best-of-breed and best-of-suite security capabilities. You will partner with security, services, and product teams to create, scale, and deliver new security solutions that are driven by innovation, quality, and reliability. Qualifications

  1. Qualifications Required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 13+ years technical engineering experience with coding in language including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python, OR equivalent experience.

    • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience working on large-scale cloud applications and designing and building large-scale distributed systems.

    • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience leading complex designs, developing high quality and high resilient systems

    • 5+ years of people management: recruiting, technical leadership and mentorship, personal development, team building, vision, and roadmap creation.

    • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: - Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter

    • Engaging, cooperative, forward thinking, curious and enthusiastic.

    Additional requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists

    • Familiar with security development lifecycle

    • Experience with software development tools such as source control systems (GIT), automated build systems, compilers, software validation systems, project tracking, and lifecycle management systems

    Microsoft Defender for Identity (MDI) is a system that provides detection and for advanced identity related attacks. It is designed to identify intrusion attempts and assist in rapid response to security events related to identities. MDI uses machine learning to analyze user behavior and identify abnormal activities that may be dangerous, with sensors installed on the organization's Active Directory and other information sources. The system is part of Microsoft's XDR platform responsible for identity protection. The system operates at a high scale with thousands of customers and protection of over 100 million identities to date, with significant growth every quarter. We are looking to recruit an experienced engineering manager to take part in the challenging process of expanding MDI to the next stages

As a manager in Microsoft Defender for Identity, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of cybersecurity. You will lead a dynamic and talented team dedicated to developing cutting-edge security solutions.
